Professor Profile | Kai-Tai Song was born in Taipei in 1957. He received his B.S. degree in power mechanical engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 1979 and his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 1989. Since 1989 he has been on the faculty and is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Director of Institute of Electrical Control Engineering, National Chiao Tung University(NCTU) in Hsinchu, Taiwan. He was also served as the Associate Dean of the Office of Research & Development of NCTU from 2007 to 2009. He served as the Chair of IEEE Robotics & Automation Chapter, Taipei Section in 1999. His areas of research interest include mobile robots, image processing, visual tracking, embedded systems and mechatronics. His is an execute directorateTaiwan Robotics Society, a directorate of Robotics Association Taiwan, Taiwan Association of System Science and Engineering, and Chinese Automatic Control Society. |
