Taiwanese dermatologist Jack Li has been elected as the next president of the International Medical Informatics Association, a medical group recognized by the World Health Organization. Li is a dean at Taipei Medical University and an authority on the use of artificial intelligence in medicine.
Not only that, the IMIA has chosen Taiwan to host its MedInfo conference in 2023. Taiwan was selected from 61 member states and 51 academic institutions. The medical group has also decided to eject China from the group, reportedly because of missed membership dues.
